Varun is a corporate, securities and regulatory lawyer with over 25 years of experience in boards and c-suites of emerging technology and software start-ups, prestigious law firms and in government and courts. In his 17-year law firm career, he was a Corporate and Securities Partner and trusted advisor to dozens of companies and led numerous high-value initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, private equity, startup and cross-border transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $10 billion. Varun transitioned to company inhouse roles in 2014, serving as Chief Legal Officer at multiple startups including two unicorns. Prior to his legal career, he worked at Ernst & Young and was a CPA. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown Law School.
